2009.05.28 Shanghai FM SINA Press Conference Q & A

Sina Entertainment News (5/28), Lee Jun Ki 2009 Shanghai Fan Meet, Media and Fans attended the press conference in the Pullman Shanghai Skyway Hotel. Lee Jun Ki is an all black suit, entered with a smile and waving his hand. Before starting, reporters had about 20 seconds to take pictures, Jun Ki did some poses, always having a smile on his face.
On the day of the press con there were more than 300 FANS present, with some confusion on the scene. But this didn’t put a damper on Jun Ki’s mood. He would do random gestures that would cause the FANS who were present to go wild with screams. Before is the Q and A session with Lee Jun Ki:

Q1: It’s been a year since you’ve been to Shanghai, coming this time to do a fan meet, so how do you feel about Shanghai (this time)?
JK: It’s been a year since I’ve been to Shanghai, I’m very happy and excited to be here, and to have a fan meet in Shanghai, I hope to have everyone’s support.

Q2: Lee Jun Ki has always been an actor, so what made you want to be a singer?
JK: There’s only one reason and that is for the FANS. Either through television dramas, movies, or interactions with the FANS, that just didn’t feel like it was enough. Releasing a CD and having a fan meet, it’s all for the fans and having more interaction and better communication.

Q3: Lee Jun Ki is having the fan meets in Shanghai and Hangzhou, what can we expect on stage?
JK: Well if it’s Shanghai, there will be the E.Z Band (a new Korean band) who will be on stage to play 2 songs, hope everyone will be supportive. As for Hangzhou, that’s to be determined.

Q4: We know that a little while back Lee Jun Ki released the new single/album《J-Style》, one of the songs was written especially for the FANS, so what were you thinking about to write a song for the FANS?
JK: The reason being that the first FANMEETING in Korea, Episode I, I felt that that wasn’t enough of a gift, so I wanted to whole-heartedly do something for the FANS. Along with the staff, we brainstormed ideas and discussed what direction we wanted things to go in, wrote lyrics for this song, and I personally like writing lyrics. Hoping that everyone will like it.

Q5: You’ve always presented yourself as an actor, after today, will you present yourself as a singer? What are your plans for the future?
JK: Lee Jun Ki has always been an actor to greet and interact with FANS through television and movies. After this, I will participate more in different areas to interact with the FANS, not necessarily becoming a singer and presenting myself as a singer.

Q6: There are 300 FANS present, but outside are even more FANS who could not enter, what can you say to them?
JK: My family has been continuously supportive, with that, I will use the fan meet as a way to return their never ending love and support. From now on, I will change for the better so I can better repay my family. I hope I can have everyone’s support.

Q7: Many disheartening things have been happening is the world of Korean celebrities as of late and there is so much pressure in the celebrity circle. How does Lee Jun Ki handle such pressures? And where does it come from?
JK: I’ve never really felt much pressure, just thinking and heading towards a positive direction, being very open minded, and not feeling burdened because of new people entering the celebrity circuit. It’s actually the opposite and it’s a good thing. I will show myself by using the competition as a way to withstand the pressure.

Q8:About the fan meet, where do you feel the greatest difficulty lies?
JK:There isn’t really any difficult areas. I’ve just been really happy in preparing for the FM, hoping everyone will be supportive.

Q9: Today is The Dragon Boat Festival, will Jun Ki who is here right now feel lonely? Do you eat 粽子 (Zongzi - rice and choice of fillings wrapped in bamboo leaves and boiled) in Korea?
JK: My FANS are like my family, my Korean and Chinese fans are one big family. I won’t feel lonely in China because I also have family to spend The Dragon Boat Festival with. Is there anyone present who brought 粽子? (looking for 粽子…)

Q10: Does Lee Jun Ki have any new movies or television shows lined up for audiences?
JK: There was suppose to be a new production ready to start filming in the beginning of the year, but because of various reasons it kept getting postponed. I feel like I’ve disappointed everyone’s expectations and that’s why I’m trying to do other things to make up for that and repay everyone for their support. At the end of the year or next year, everyone will see my new project, hoping everyone will wait for that.

Q11:There was a rumor that your 2 FMs in Shanghai and Hangzhou, the Hangzhou one is because of a certain female/girl. Not sure, but is there such a thing?
JK: Absolutely not! This piece of information is fake. I haven’t been a part of any scandals, I want to be a part of scandal news, scandals are good, but I just don’t have any. Like this rumor that has started, I think it’s fairly amusing/interesting, but it’s not real.
This time, to hold FMs in Shanghai and Hangzhou is just the beginning. If there are chances in the future, I hope to have them in more places.

Q12:10 years from now, will Lee Jun Ki be the same as he is now to interact with the FANS?
JK: I hope that such things like FMs can be forever and I can keep doing them, putting the actor Lee Jun Ki and singer Lee Jun Ki together. My idol has always been Andy Lau, he presents himself and interact with his fans as an actor and as a singer. I’ve learned a lot from him and I hope that 10 years from now, I can be like Andy Lau.

Q13: Since you’ve worked with so many different female celebrities, who has left the biggest impression on you? What type of girls does Lee Jun Ki like?
JK: Actors/Actresses whom I’ve worked with before are all very talented people. For me to decide who is better is very hard for me to say. Everyone is good in their profession and I’ve learned a lot through working with them.
Before, I’ve said that I like the cute type and who are older than me, but that’s always changing. I don’t have a specific type that I like. I hope that the person I am fated to be with will show up, but that still hasn’t happened yet.

Lee Jun Ki is in China for a very short period of time. Right after the press conference, there is no rest and he must rush to the Shanghai stage to practice for the fan meet. As for his performance, Jun Ki is very confident, hoping that tomorrow he can give his Chinese FANS a beautiful and unforgettable memory.
